Dante

Dante is undoutably the coolest game character ever. He's suave, sophisticated and has some cool catchphrases. Some are rather cheesey but they are some of the coolest sayings you will hear on any game. Dante wears Red and Black and always has a flowing jacket on. The only difference i can tell between him in both games is that in the second game his hair is tidier and he wears his body armour (that black waistcoat) over his coat instead of under it. I think he looks a lot better in the second one. The coat used to get in the way a lot in the first game and at times would look untidy and make him look fat. Having the armour over the top makes him look a lot more tidy. I think they did excellent in making him look better in the second game.

Dantes Weapons

Dante uses a wide variety of weapons on his quest for vengance. In Devil May Cry he has 4 melee(close quarter)weapons, 3 Swords and a pair of guantlets. The 3 swords are Force Edge, A memento of his father, Alastor, The spirit of lightning and Sparda his fathers sword. The guantlets are a pair of flaming gloves bestowed with the powers of the deepest fires of Hell. In Devil May Cry 2 he has 3 swords. The Rebellion, A sword average in all ways, The Merciless, A lightweight fast sword that deals low damage and The Vendetta, A heavy sword that deals high damage but is slow. I prefer the swords in DMC because there is a greater variety and whichever weapon you select affects Dantes abilites.

Dante is also quite handy with a gun or two. In Devil May Cry Dante has five weapons, Ebony and Ivory, The twin pistols, A Shotgun, Excellent at close range, A Grenadegun, High powered, but slow, A Needlegun, Slow and weak, and the only weapon useable underwater and finally the all powerful Nightmare Beta, A weapon built in the Underworld which no-one understands. In Devil May Cry 2 Dante has 4 weapons, Ebony and Ivory and the Shotgun are back but now he also has a pair of low calibur but fast firing Machine Guns and A very high powered but slow rocket launcher. I prefer the weapons in DMC 2 because they have more variety and there is always a right gun for the right situation.

It's Twosome time!

Dante also has the ablility to harness his devil powers and to transform into his demonic form which is twice as strong as he is. In Devil May Cry his demonic powers are affected by what sword/gauntlets he has equipped. He has 3 forms Alastor, Spirit of Lightning, Ifirit, Spirit of the fires of Hell and Dark Knight Dante, The full form of his powers, he can only transform into this when he is pushed too far and he has hold of Sparda. In Devil May Cry 2 his demonic powers are affected by what hearts you have placed in his amulet. His amulet has 3 spaces. 1 for an elemental heart, 1 for a movement heart and 1 for a ability heart. These allow Dante to change his devil form to the situation meaning and demon who wants to stand in his way, doesn't stand a chance. I prefer DMC 2 for Devil Trigger, It has more ways of being used and can be experimented with for the best effects.

Devil Dante

This is Devil Trigger (DT) Dante from Devil May Cry 2. In DT mode he looks nothing like Dante. Devil Trigger is aquired through taking and dealing damage. The more damage, the more the DT gauge is filled. DT is Dantes most powerful form, and in this form can cause huge amounts of damage and destruction to his foes. In DMC 2, when you enter DT at low health Dante enters super morph, and becomes hyper-powered and super charged. NO-ONE can stop you in this form if you're good enough... In DMC 1 You fight Mundus as The Legendary Dark Knight Dante... This is the effect of DT when he is using his fathers legendary sword, Sparda. DMC 2 has the best DT though, it has more combinations and takes longer to complete the whole amulet.
